The best sheet for Hanukkah labels
Blue-and-white labels for Hanukkah cards, gelt bags, gift tags and party invitations during the eight nights. Avery 5160 puts 30 labels on one US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 10 rows, which is why it is the default for Hanukkah labels here.
Each label is 2 5/8″ (66.7 mm) wide and 1″ (25.4 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 3/16″ (4.8 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the preset, “from the Cohens”, has 15 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 5 lines of 36 characters, at 8 pt about 6 lines of 45.
Compared with 5160: Avery 5294 has 2.4× the label area and 12 instead of 30 labels per sheet, Avery 5293 has the same label area and 24 instead of 30 labels per sheet and Avery 5163 has 3× the label area and 10 instead of 30 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your gifts and cards need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.

-
Blue dots (preset)
Dots style in blue with deep blue text, centred; reads well on white gift wrap.
-
Silver-blue frame
Frame style in a grey-blue accent around “Chag Sameach” and a name.
-
Eight nights
Plain style with large text and a merge list from “Night 1” to “Night 8”, one label per gift.
Tips for printing Hanukkah labels
- If you give one small gift each night, print eight labels with “Night 1” to “Night 8” in merge mode from a one-column list.
- Deep blue text on white is as readable as black, so you can use the accent colour for the text itself on short labels.
- A 1 5/8″ round suits small gelt bags; seal the bag closed with a second label.
- Because the holiday moves on the Gregorian calendar, check this year's first night before you print dated labels.
Print plan: Hanukkah labels for 25 to 150 gifts and cards
For 100 gifts and cards you need 4 sheets of 5160, with 20 labels left for next time. 150 gifts and cards fill whole 5160 sheets exactly. The plain-paper test costs no label sheet, so print it first.
| Gifts and cards | 5160 sheets (30/sheet) | Labels left over | Or 5294 sheets (12/sheet) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 gifts and cards | 1 | 5 | 3 |
| 50 gifts and cards | 2 | 10 | 5 |
| 100 gifts and cards | 4 | 20 | 9 |
| 150 gifts and cards | 5 | 0 | 13 |
When to print Hanukkah labels
Hanukkah follows the Hebrew calendar, so its Gregorian dates move every year (the first night falls between late November and late December); check it on a Jewish calendar before printing dated labels.
If you mail gifts and cards, check your postal service's own published holiday mailing dates; they change every year and LabelGrid does not guess them. Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions
What size are Hanukkah labels?
LabelGrid's default for Hanukkah labels is 1″ × 2 5/8″ (Avery 5160, 30 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 5294 at 2 1/2″ round, Avery 5293 at 1 5/8″ round and Avery 5163 at 2″ × 4″.
How many Hanukkah labels fit on one sheet?
30 on Avery 5160, 12 on Avery 5294, 24 on Avery 5293 and 10 on Avery 5163. For 48 gifts and cards at 1 label each you need 2 sheets of Avery 5160.
Can every label on the sheet be different?
Yes. The preset repeats one design on every label, which suits Hanukkah labels. For different text on each label, switch to merge mode and paste one row per label; the free version prints one full sheet per list.
Why do my Hanukkah labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
