Avery 5395 in LibreOffice Writer, step by step
-
Open the Labels dialog
In LibreOffice Writer, choose File › New › Labels; the dialog has Labels, Format and Options tabs, and all three matter for 5395.
-
Pick the 5395 template
On the Labels tab, choose the Brand “Avery Letter Size” and look for 5395 in Type. Brand and type lists vary by version; if 5395 is missing, use the next step.
-
Or enter 5395 by hand
On the Format tab enter the 5395 values: Horizontal pitch 3.75 in, Vertical pitch 2.52 in, Width 3.375 in, Height 2.333 in, Left margin 0.688 in, Top margin 0.563 in, Columns 2, Rows 4, Page width 8.5 in, Page height 11 in; save it for next time.
-
Edit once, copy to all
On the Options tab tick Synchronize contents and click New Document. Edit the top-left 5395 label, then click Synchronize Labels to copy it to all 8.
-
Merge a spreadsheet
For one 5395 label per row, pick your registered spreadsheet under Database and Table on the Labels tab and insert its fields; when you print, LibreOffice asks whether to print a form letter: answer Yes.
-
Print 5395 at 100 %
File › Print: paper US Letter, no “fit to page” scaling; a plain-paper test should show 4 rows of 5395 labels 2.52 in apart.
Worked example: 80 name badge labels on 5395
A merge of 80 rows prints 10 pages of 8 Avery 5395 labels. Preview the first page before sending all 10 to the printer.
In the LabelGrid designer the same 80 rows go into merge mode; the free version prints the first 8 (one full 5395 sheet) and Pro removes the limit. To reuse a part-used sheet, set the start position to the first empty label.

When 5395 labels print out of line in LibreOffice Writer
- 5395 labels print on the wrong paper size: check Format › Page Style matches US Letter; LibreOffice may default to your locale's paper.
