Avery L7160 in Canva, step by step
-
Create a sheet-sized design
Canva works per design, not per label, so start with Create a design › Custom size 210 × 297 mm, the full A4 sheet that holds 21 Avery L7160 labels.
-
Show rulers and guides
Turn on rulers and guides (under File or View settings, depending on your Canva version), then drag vertical guides from the ruler to the left label edges at 7.2 mm, 73.2 mm, 139.3 mm; zoom in to place them precisely (each label is 63.5 mm wide).
-
Add the row guides
Drag horizontal guides to the top label edges at 15.2 mm, 53.3 mm, 91.4 mm … every 38.1 mm … 243.8 mm (each label is 38.1 mm tall).
-
Design inside the boxes
Keep text at least 1.8 mm inside every L7160 label edge; Canva has no snap-to-label, so check each of the 21 copies against the guides.
-
Export a print PDF
Download the L7160 sheet (Share › Download) as PDF Print with crop marks and bleed turned off, then print at 100 % (“Actual size”) on A4 paper.
-
Or lay out the sheet with LabelGrid
Text-only L7160 labels are quicker in the designer above: it places all 21 positions for you. Images on labels are part of LabelGrid Pro.
Worked example: 100 address labels on L7160
100 labels on Avery L7160 need 5 pages of 21: duplicate the finished page 4 times, change the text on each copy and make sure the guides at 7.2 mm and 15.2 mm are on every page.
In the LabelGrid designer the same 100 rows go into merge mode; the free version prints the first 21 (one full L7160 sheet) and Pro removes the limit. To reuse a part-used sheet, set the start position to the first empty label.

When L7160 labels print out of line in Canva
- The L7160 page shrinks when printed from the browser tab: print the downloaded PDF from a PDF viewer at Actual size instead.
- Designs sit a little off the L7160 die-cuts: snapping moved an element; zoom in and check it against the 7.2 mm and 15.2 mm guides.
- Text cut off on the first or last L7160 row: many printers leave about 1/4″ (6 mm) unprinted, and L7160 has 15.2 mm at the top and 15.2 mm at the bottom, so keep Canva text 1.8 mm inside each label.
