What 1 label per US Letter sheet means
A count of 1 per sheet does not fix the label size: the 69 sheets here use 15 sizes and 1 grid (1 × 1). Labels cover between 3 % and 100 % of the US Letter page; the rest is margin and gaps.
Always choose the template by the code printed on the box: two 1-up sheets with different sizes or margins need different templates, even though the count matches. The most common size at this count is 8 1/2″ × 11″ (54 sheets).

How many 1-up sheets you need
At 1 per sheet the arithmetic is simple: every label takes its own sheet, so a run of 250 needs 250 sheets.
| Labels | Sheets (fresh sheet) | Blank labels left |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 50 | 0 |
| 100 | 100 | 0 |
| 250 | 250 | 0 |
| 500 | 500 | 0 |
| 1000 | 1000 | 0 |
Which 1-up sheet to pick
Avery 3114 is the default here because Avery codes are the usual reference for compatible sheets, and it shares its exact layout with 48 other sheets on this list, so its template prints on those too. Its labels are 8 1/2″ (215.9 mm) by 11″ (279.4 mm).
8 1/2″ × 11″ is already the largest size at this count; the smallest are 1″ × 3.15″ on OnlineLabels OL9325 (case second). LabelGrid recommends 1-up sheets for sticker labels.
Frequently asked questions
What size are the labels on 1-up sheets?
It depends on the sheet: 8 1/2″ × 11″ (Avery 8165), 7 1/2″ × 10″ (OnlineLabels OL9800), 4″ × 6″ (OnlineLabels OL432), 7″ round (OnlineLabels OL317) and 5 1/2″ round (SheetLabels SL129) and others.
How many sheets do I need for 500 labels at 1 per sheet?
500 sheets (0 labels left blank). For 100 labels: 100 sheets.
Is every 1-up template the same?
No. There are 16 different layouts at this count; label sizes and margins differ, so pick the template by the code on your box.
How do I print 1 label per sheet correctly?
Download the PDF from the designer and print on US Letter paper at 100 % (“Actual size”), without “fit to page”. Print one test page on plain paper and hold it against a label sheet first.
